Phibrows/Microblading

PhiBrows is a manual skill of semi-permanent eyebrow drawing. Shape of the eyebrows is calculated according to the golden intersection (phi 1.618) and face morphology. The PhiBrow consultation is carried out at the start of the 2 hour initial treatment. At this stage, we discuss eyebrow Design and desired result. The pigment is applied into the surface layer of the dermis using sterilised tools. The pigment is chosen so to match the natural hair or eyebrows’ colour. Symmetry is achieved through PhiBrows application and it is calculated while the clients’ eyes are closed because in that way mimetic muscles that can affect eyebrows’ symmetry are relaxed. Strokes are always drawn in the direction of natural hairs’ growth to achieve hyper-realistic look. Treatment is performed with disposable sterile tools (PhiBrush), and pigments are produced in accordance with the highest standards (PhiBrows microblading pigments).

Aftercare

The healing is fully completed after 28 days and the client will come back in for a mandatory top up appointment. This is when we perform an obligatory addition of the pigment that has been lost, or for most, to refresh and perfect the brows. With problematic and oily skins, this may require additional sessions. Pain during the treatment is relative. Scared clients and clients who have their period usually feel stronger pain, while the other clients compare the pain to the one they feel when plucking eyebrows. It is possible to use mild anaesthetics in form of cream or liquid that can ease pain during treatment.

PhiBrows last 6-18 months depending on skin type and lifestyle. The success of the treatment depends on the skin quality, post-treatment flow and care and exposure to different external factors. All of these factors are out of the artist’s control, so any possibility to provide guarantees for the treatment is excluded. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or undergoing chemo the treatment cannot be carried out.

What is cosmetic tattooing?

Cosmetic tattooing provides a means to naturally enhance the facial features. It’s also referred to as semi-permanent makeup or micropigmentation. The coloured pigment is implanted beneath the surface of the skin with tiny, sterile, disposable needles. This produces the appearance of hair strokes and enhances the natural features of the face.

What is the difference between cosmetic tattoing and standard body tattooing?

Cosmetic tattooing enhances your natural features. It is softer and more subtle and it is meant to be a natural-looking enhancement. Body tattoos use ink while cosmetic tattoo procedures involve pigments. These pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to colour and shape over the years as the client’s natural colouration and facial changes occur. Body tattoo needles also go a lot deeper in the skin compared to needles used for cosmetic tattoos.

What are PhiBrows/Microblading?

PhiBrows is a manual form of semi-permanent eyebrow drawing performed with a handheld tool. Two appointments are required, 4 weeks apart.

What should I do before my appointment?

Do not drink alcohol the night before your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. If you have been on prescriptive Accutane in the past you must wait a year before considering this procedure. Avoid sun and sun beds a month before and a month after your appointment.

How do you measure the shape?

Shape of the eyebrows is calculated according to the golden intersection (phi 1.618) and face morphology. Brows are mapped out and shape is shown to the client prior to beginning microblading. We will not start your appointment until you are happy to go ahead.

How do you choose the colour?

We take into account the colour of your hair and skin and your desires. Ideally the colour is chosen to match your hair.

How long do Annarae Artistry PhiBrows/Microblading last?

Phibrows last 6-18 months depending on skin type and lifestyle. A top up appointment is recommended 1-2 years after .

Is it painful?

Pain varies from person to person but most people find it tolerable and similar to eyebrow plucking. A mild topical anaesthetic can be used.

Will the brows look dark and blocky?

No. Hyper realistic hairstrokes are drawn in the skin to fill out and perfect the shape of your natural brows. The strokes appear darkest on the first day but not scary at all and fade as they heal over four weeks. Brows are topped up at the second appointment and they fade and heal again.

Is there any reason Annarae Artistry PhiBrows/Microblading would not suit me?

If you are pregnant, breast feeding or undergoing chemotherapy the treatment cannot be carried out. On your phibrow consultation form there are a list of medical questions to answer prior to your appointment. If you have excessively delicate/sensitive/oily/problematic skin the treatment is not suitable. Skin conditions like Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea, heavy Melasma etc that are present on the face will affect retention and longevity of microbladed brows
